I would like to hear the kids' take on this - I have a feeling the parents are looking to cash in, or they take it as a personal affront when their kids are cut. Kids bounce back, but parents don't.
Crap like this can only hurt organized sports. Who wants to donate their time and effort to help kids when they are apt to end up getting sued by some parent with their nose out of joint? End of rant.
I'll have to PVR this one. Can't wait to see the argument. Its Rep people....competition....if you want everybody to play you better go back to house league. Unbelievable that parents would go to this extreme. Then again, no its not. I've spent too much time on hockey executive and have seen the craziness of it.
I just found out that after spending $10,000 on courses with an investing company, I have become an unwitting accomplice in a class action lawsuit and am going to get $80 back. I feel giddy. I can so understand these parents getting caught up in the whole "sue the b****rds" routine. If my grandmother was still alive I'd start searching for ways to sue her.
There was a spit-take at our breakfast table upon reading about this earlier.
ReplyDeleteIs it that hard to accept or even realize that perhaps your kid is not that good?

Geeze,is everything supposed to be handed to everyone now?
Is no one supposed to get by on their own merit and talents?

DJW - there's a cream for that.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't sue if my kid got cut.
ReplyDeleteIf I was fired for unjust cause, uh yeah, I'd raise crap about it.
I would never fire you, Jeff.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how many just causes I had to do so.
And you have plenty
ReplyDeleteStop playing nice, you two. It's not normal.
