This is a sinkhole that opened up in Guatemala City after tropical storm Agatha ripped through. Wow. It swallowed a three story building and a house.

  1. OMG. What kind of critter lives at the bottom of that hole? That is super scary. Poor people.

  2. That doesn't look real....like something done in photoshop.

  3. I thought the same thing - photoshop. Or maybe Lorraine got the month wrong for April Fool's Day.

But after looking through Google, this is the real thing. You have to feel sorry for all of these poor people.

  5. You can actually see the chisel marks. This hole was dug by 350,000 Guatemalans who were anxious to leave town for a week long, fully escorted tour of Phuket.

When they return they have promised to fill the hole back in.

    Snope Master that!

  6. OK, I'll bite.... why, never mind how, would 350,000 Guatemalans consider going to Thailand? To compare notes on which of the two is a real Third World country?

Or has digging one's way to China finally been achieved?

  7. Everybody needs a holiday. Some just like to work a little harder to attain it. I'm pretty sure you can see the light of Thailand if you look hard enough. Waaaaayyyyyy down there.
