Lorraine, your comment on bubble wrap and stuffing them in the closet about sums it up. We are producing wimps for the next generation. Keep your eye on them in the workforce, if they live long enough to get there without suffocating in the process, not good. Sad actually and they live at home till they are 40 now. Sort of tells us something doesn't it?
Not only are we raising wimps, we are raising wimps that are not responsible for anything that happens either!! Injure yourself? Blame the manufacturer. Problems with your child? Call the police....it is sad.
Now to the bubble wrap...I love the stuff, when you put it in the closet can I come play? amw
Mom knows best. Well, I thought she did. Go play is a very unsettling term anymore without an ambulance following and a health card coupled with extended health care benefits.
Children that are being brought up, or that where brought up, as 'wimps' are nowhere near the age of 40, so I don't know how one could make the statement they live at home at 40. I think you have the wrong generation.
The difference between this generation and our generation is examples. Our generation did not have TV shows like "Jackass" and "Amazing Videos" to show us stupid things to attempt, we had to think them up ourselves. Secondly, we didn't have the video games where we could attempt various stunts and if we failed, we hit reset and were all better. We did have the coyote and roadrunner, and no-one ever wanted to be the coyote, he always lost!

ReplyDeleteAlthough they probably will...
Jeff, that is exactly what I meant. Thanks for understanding. They will be at home till 40, most of them anyways.
